Who we are
Straker Fire & Forestry is a Brown County company that runs on forestry mulching. The forestry side is responsible land clearing, invasive species removal, and timber stand improvement. The fire side is mechanical work with the same machine, not prescribed fire.
On the fire side we masticate ladder fuels into surface fuels and mulch, construct fire and fuel breaks across a property, and create defensible space around structures. The mulcher does the work. We do not light burns.
We work with private landowners who want a clear plan, honest timing, and a crew that treats their property like it will still be in the family twenty years from now.

Mulch in place
The forestry mulcher grinds brush and ladder fuels where they stand. Material stays on the ground as mulch instead of being piled and burned.
Leave it usable
You get open woods, a walkable understory, crop trees that can grow, fuel breaks that hold, and defensible space around the house or barn.
Serving Indiana woodland
Based in Brown County, we work the unglaciated southern Indiana hills: oak-hickory ridges, hollows, and farm-woodlot edges around Nashville and neighboring counties. If your project is farther out, ask. Travel is considered by job size and season.
